The Yuma County Gay Rights Meetup is the first Gay, Lesbian, Bi-Sexual, Transgender and Questing (GLBTQ) public activist group and was established to express Yuma County's GLBTQ views and interests in a positive and festive atmosphere of inclusion and cooperation with other groups, families, faith-based organizations and the Yuma community at large. The goal is to enjoy ourselves while actively participating in community affairs dedicated to the improvement of GLBTQ rights in Yuma County through Mutual Support, Education and Advocacy. Our group is open to all GLBTQ persons, their valued friends, supportive relatives and inspiring allies.

Basically, we are a philosophically holistic and spiritually inclusive affinity network….organized locally to allow each of us to create ongoing intelligent in-person conversations and events with others who are also interested in being healthy and vital… body, mind, and spirit. And because actually being VITAL is clearly a much broader journey than just being about what we eat (although that IS a big key)….beyond the raw and/or vegan-vegetarian food affinity, this Vitality Community is also a place to connect and meetup with others to share and learn about exercise, yoga, massage, expanding the mind, meditation, artistic self-expression, faith in a higher power, happiness, healing, grieving, fasting, and many other aspects of living a vital and abundant life full of wellbeing.
As each of us has a lot to offer… (for we are all both learners and teachers)…the mission of this community includes (but isn't limited to) creating, facilitating, and coordinating events that we/you/I invent and offer to the community body. As members, you will receive email notice of, and an invitation to, each event, and you are free to participate as much or as little as you choose. There are no dues to be a member of this community per se, and of course, some kinds of events may need to charge, or ask for donations.
So to sum up, this group is about learning to be (and then being) as healthy and vital as possible--- in body, mind, and spirit---and to do that, we create 1. rawfood-vegan-vegetarian potlucks and food preparation classes plus 2. a variety of member-suggested other educational and community fun events and classes. BTW, you only need to have an INTEREST in any of the subject areas tagged to join this group, and of course you can leave anytime you wish too. So if associating with other out-of-the-box folks is interesting to you, if you're into raw or vegan food, maybe into doing yoga, tai chi, meditating, hiking, wild food foraging, exercising, dancing.... any of that (for starters)… we welcome you!
We are a community of spiritual seekers representing numerous metaphysical paths, all gathering to learn, grow and celebrate together at Yuma Center for Spiritual Living. Our center belongs to the New Thought movement, which combines modern spiritual awareness with truths from world religions, ancient wisdom and the philosophies of writers such as Emerson and Thoreau. Meetups take place each Sunday at 10 a.m. when we gather for services offering meditation, affirmative prayer, inspirational music and enlightening readings.

This group is open to all wives who husband's are assigned to the Military Freefall School located on Yuma Proving Ground, AZ. This is a social group that works together to support our husbands' company through donations and volunteers.
